The Abiy Ahmed regime has already rejected the UNHRC resolution on Tigray

The regime has already rejected the UNHRC resolution on Tigray and vowed not to allow the team to enter into Ethiopia to conduct its investigation. As of very recent, the regime is expressing its “readiness ” through its internal communication to work with UNHRC team if two conditions are met:

1. That the UNHRC accepts the Pre-June 2021 joint investigation “carried out” in Tigray by the UNHRC and the Ethiopian HRC is completed and what is remaining is to implement the recommendations.

2. That the UNHRC is willing to jointly investigate with the HRC of Ethiopia the post June 2021 human rights abuse allegedly committed by the TPLF in the Amhara and Afar regions.

The regime is working very hard to kill the December 17/2021 Resolution on Tigray and UNHRC seems to be succumbing to the pressures by the Ethiopian government.

The UNHRC investigators on Tigray will have also offices in Washington and Uganda, in addition to the one in the Gambia.
